What must clients do before arrival in Mozambique?
Travellers entering Mozambique will be required to produce proof of a vaccination certificate or a negative PCR test result, not older than 72 hours. Children up to 11 years are exempt from these rules. Travellers who do not submit a vaccine certificate or PCR test must do an antigen test on arrival.
In light of the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, Decree No. 68/2022, of 19 December was approved, and amends paragraph 2 of article 5 of Decree No. 44/2022, of 1 September, thus being in effect as follows –
The use of masks is mandatory in health units, medical offices, laboratories, pharmacies and nursing homes. Therefore, it is no longer mandatory inside commercial aircraft.
Decree 68/2022 is in force since 19 December 2022.

For purposes of land border crossings, COVID-19 tests remain valid for 7 days for those requiring multiple entries over a short period of time or leaving Mozambique for a short duration.
The validity of the SARS COV-2 PCR test is 7 days. Counted from the sample collection date, for citizens of Mozambican or foreign nationality who need multiples entries in the country in a short period of time or who take a short trip abroad.
What happens on arrival in Mozambique?
The Ministry of Health (MISAU) continues screening at airports and other points of entry scanning the temperatures of all travellers.
All persons who test positive for COVID-19 or have been directly exposed to a positive case of COVID-19 must quarantine at their own cost for 14 days
What must clients do before departure from Mozambique?
If their airline or destination country requires a COVID-19 PCR test, then they will be required to take a test within the time limit given by the airline or destination of arrival.

Who will arrange the tests?
It is suggested that guests organise their own COVID-19 PCR test in their home country before entering Mozambique. For guests requiring tests on their return, it is suggested that they liaise with the hospital/hotel/lodges to organise.
